FALLING FILMEVAPORATION SYSTEMS

Falling-film review for liquid food ingredients

Check formulation, rheology and hygiene requirements before selecting a concentration arrangement.

01 / ENGINEERING CONTEXT

Define the formulation boundary

List the major dissolved and suspended components and any additions made before concentration. A material balance based on one unchanged solids stream is not valid if ingredients are added or fractions are removed within the system.

02 / ENGINEERING CONTEXT

Check the limiting outlet condition

Supply concentration-dependent viscosity and temperature sensitivity. Include cold restart and discharge requirements. Highly viscous, crystallising or heavily fouling duties may require another concept or a separate finishing stage.

03 / ENGINEERING CONTEXT

Coordinate utilities and production schedule

Describe campaign lengths, changeovers, minimum load and available cleaning time. Compare effects and heat recovery on the same duty, not an assumed continuous annual schedule that the site cannot achieve.

04 / ENGINEERING CONTEXT

Set the evidence required in a proposal

Ask for the mass and heat balance, layout, materials, instrument list and cleaning boundary. Confirm which items are included, supplied by others or still awaiting product tests.
