FALLING FILMEVAPORATION SYSTEMS

Falling film evaporation for citrus juice concentration

Specify pulp, aroma objectives, concentration basis and thermal-quality limits when evaluating falling film evaporation for citrus juice.

01 / APPLICATION

Pulp and suspended solids need their own basis

Specify the citrus stream, pulp content, particle distribution and upstream finishing or clarification. A clear-juice duty differs from a pulp-containing duty. Distributor geometry and minimum wetting need to reflect the actual liquid rather than a generic fruit-processing description.

02 / APPLICATION

Separate concentration from flavour handling

State the target concentration and the quality checks required on the concentrate. Where volatile-component recovery is required, identify its inclusion and the relevant interfaces. Aroma recovery is a defined equipment scope; an illustration of an evaporator does not establish that it is included.

03 / APPLICATION

Temperature and residence history

Review boiling conditions, preheating, product routing and the exposure of the final concentrate. Acceptance should identify the relevant analytical or sensory criteria without assuming that one operating temperature guarantees a particular flavour result. Product trials can help resolve uncertain quality requirements.

04 / APPLICATION

Prepare a comparable citrus proposal

Give the feed and concentrate basis, suspended-solids information, proposed operating schedule and utilities. Ask for a common mass balance, heat balance, scope boundary, cleaning procedure and acceptance method. Do not adopt a capacity or quality guarantee from a reference publication as a rating of the proposed machine.
