MVR versus TVR energy comparison basis
Prepare comparable steam, electricity, vapour and cooling boundaries for a food-liquid evaporation quotation.
Define the same kilogram of removed water
State feed and concentrate mass flows, concentration basis, feed temperature and operating schedule. Report live steam, electricity and cooling separately per mass of removed water. Show whether preheating, start-up, vacuum auxiliaries and cleaning are included.
Describe the recompression service
For TVR provide motive-steam pressure and condition, suction-vapour pressure and the proposed ejector operating range. For MVR request vapour flow, temperature lift, compressor map, drive and protective controls. Utility price alone cannot select either arrangement.
Turn estimates into an acceptance basis
Ask for a heat balance at normal and minimum load and a proposed measurement boundary. Confirm tariffs, units and operating hours before calculating cost. Do not convert a reference steam economy into a universal saving percentage.
