FALLING FILMEVAPORATION SYSTEMS

Falling film evaporation for apple juice concentration

Review apple-juice clarification, soluble-solids targets, aroma handling and concentrate properties before specifying a falling film evaporator.

01 / APPLICATION

Clarification and distribution

Describe whether the juice is clear, cloudy or partly clarified and provide representative suspended-solids and particle information. Distribution passages and tube wetting must be checked against the actual preparation. The name “apple juice” alone does not establish the feed condition.

02 / APPLICATION

Concentration and product quality

State inlet and target soluble solids together with the analytical method and measurement temperature. Provide a quality objective for colour, flavour and thermal exposure. Vacuum and product routing should be reviewed in that context; lower boiling temperature does not by itself establish the complete residence history.

03 / APPLICATION

Volatiles and the project boundary

Where aroma handling is part of the product objective, identify what is to be recovered and how the recovered stream is to be used. Preheating, evaporation, separation, aroma handling and concentrate cooling may have different suppliers. Confirm these boundaries before comparing the evaporation equipment.

04 / APPLICATION

Data for an apple-juice enquiry

Send feed mass flow, inlet and final concentration, feed temperature, clarification method and concentrate viscosity where available. Add operating hours, utilities and the required cleaning schedule. If a property is not measured, identify the gap so that sample testing can be discussed.
